Boat Location
Our RS Zest is located in Stall G18 under a cloth cover on its own Companionway dolly in the northwest corner of the compound, west of the JSC main building.
Special Instructions
The RS Zest is a very popular and versatile one- or two-person sailing dinghy. These boats are frequently seen out on the water as part of MacSailing lessons. It is an easy-to-sail dinghy with a mainsail and small optional jib.
The mast, along with the mainsail, is stored in a locked tube located in rack G-31. The lock is opened with a key which hangs in the clubroom. Please return the key to its spot after you unlock the tube. The mainsail is stored wrapped (furled) around the mainsail with a protective sleeve. The Zest jib bag is stored in the clubroom, hanging on the south wall.
Rudder/tiller is also stored in a rack against the south wall of the club room. The centreboard, paddle, and main sheet remain on the boat. When launching the Zest, please take care with the hull on the shore, minimizing the time on shore. Please return the Zest dolly to rack G-31 before you go sailing.
After sailing, please ensure that all equipment and the boat is thoroughly rinsed free of saltwater and sand before storing. The sails should be dry and folded before being placed into the bag and stored in the club room.
